Damage Claims Policy – Five Star Moving Fresno, CA

All damage claims must be filed within 30 days of your job. With the purchase of our Professional Moving Service, Five Star Moving and its employees are only liable for damage that occurs during the load and/or unload process.

Important: Damage that occurs inside your truck during transit is not covered under any valuation protection.

We offer valuation protection at a rate of $0.60 per pound, per item based on U.S. Department of Transportation standard weights and measures. If damage is covered, the affected item may be repaired or replaced at this rate.

Items that are part of a set will be valued as individual pieces. Boxes, containers, bags, cartons, or bins not packed by Five Star Moving are excluded from coverage.

Not Covered: uncrated mirrors, sheet glass, marble, lamps, lampshades, and fragile items (ornaments, paintings, china, glassware, etc.). We do not guarantee the mechanical condition of electronics or appliances since we cannot verify their condition before the move.

Note: Furniture made of pressed board, particleboard, or compressed wood is excluded from our damage coverage due to its fragile construction.

Valuation Exclusions: wear and tear, rust, mildew, moth or vermin damage, or deterioration from cleaning/repairs are not covered. Always check your homeowner’s or renter’s insurance for additional coverage options.

Specialty Items: pool/billiard tables, pianos, and grandfather clocks are not covered unless professionally prepared by the customer.

Prohibited from Claims: cash, paper money, coins, bonds, jewelry, collectibles, or furs are not eligible for damage claims. Do not pack or move these items with us.

Supervision Required: Please stay present during your move and do not leave valuable items unattended.

If any damage occurs to your property during the move, you must inform the lead mover immediately. Failure to notify the team before they leave the site will result in forfeiture of any claim against Five Star Moving.
